What is DB?
Database. There are at least 2 DB's that can be used to support/maintain your worlds. An external group has come up with one, supposed to allow you to connect to any type of DB, I believe (SQL, MySQL, Access, etc.) And Bioware supposedly has released one, which has some pro's to it, but also, I think from what I read, it is not as flexible. We'll want to study up on this. Using a DB is how they are saving story information from player to player across server instances, and when they update/change a module. Your scripting saves the info to the DB, and retrieves it when you reload.
Here is an example of some references to usage of the different types of DB engines people are leveraging. You read thru these for very long, the DB engines definitely sound like the way to go.
