Should We play evil characters or good characters?...i think we should choose one or the other so that we don't end up messing up someone's character...i think that if Paladins go evil to far they can lose thier Paladin levels

I would like to try to play this weekend, but I'm not sure Carissa will let me right now. We are in the process of painting our bedroom before the carpeters get here to recarpet the house, so she may have me a little too busy to jump in early. I can always jump in later in the evening, 9 or 10pm. I can start up a game for you guys, just let me what module to load. You guys can get after it and then later, I can join in. I can use my Good Bard, he's 4th level. Just let me know which night you guys want me to load up and which module.

I say we just go with the chapter one again...and i vote for good characters....If no one has any objections then I say we play saturday night...however i am willing to play sunday night if saturday night is not convenient for some of you...until someone objects I'm gonna call it...Satuday evening, 6:00pm central time

As long as the nuetral character does not do anything overtly evil then the "goods" in the party should have no problemas.

I had an epiphany last night about the Good/Evil character issue. I realize there will still be technical issues if we are lawful good/lawful evil in the same group. I would suggest a form of Neutral would be best that way we don't run into too many technical issues with characters. But I don't want to limit Guild membership due to alignment....I'd like to be able to bring in anyone and have them be assimilated into the Guild......

However, I thought that the Wyrm Raiders could be the extension of the Wyrm to maintain BALANCE throughout the universe. There is a constant battle between good and evil and one cannot exist without the other - there must be a balance. It cannot be achieved randomly; there must be an overarching, omniscient, force that maintains balance everywhere. The Dragon is everywhere, his spines come up thru the forest and his wings move to create the winds and push rain where it is needed most; his fire brings down both good and evil to maintain the balance and nourish the ground and the Dragon himself. He devours and consumes where there is an overabundance and gives where there is a need.

These things are accomplished thru the quests given to the Wyrm Raiders; the communication is thru various mediums - ghostly apparitions, the cry of a needy child, the promise of gold, the desire for fame, etc, etc.

I am still brainstorming as you can see.

Chris, I don't think Daniel was speaking about Alignment in terms of our Guild. I think he was speaking to what character Alignment we should play with this weekend, if we play. This is something we need to pay attention to. We need to stick to Neutral-Good or Neutral-Bad characters together, regardless of lawfulness, IMHO. I've got some of both, and I'll just use the good one when you guys choose to go with good, and I'll use the bad guys when you choose to go with the bad ones.

I'm going to change the name of this thread to make it reusable for long-term. How about "Online Events", does that work?

Well, there is a practicle reason for us choosing a particular alignment for the adventuring groups...the game keeps up with our chaoticness, goodness, evilness and lawfulness...if a character that is suppose to be good is brought to the dark side by the actions of his team mate he may lose some experience or worse lose access to some all all class abilities

Ok...I'm restating the time because it looks like it got lost in the thread reorganization...

This Satuday evening, 6:00pm central time...the walk through of the latest version of the Homeland-Blood Moon Castle mod.

Don't Forget...6:00pm Satuday...central time

Just an FYI:

I play softball in a Chandler league with an Intel team every Thursday night, 2 hour double-header starting times of 6:30pm or 8:30pm. And, starting on Feb. 19, I will be in a second league with our Church team, playing double-header every Saturday. Those typically start earlier times. I should know the schedule next week.

Sorry guys. But I have to play as much as I can, while I can, because I love it so much. Not to mention, I'm good, too. :-) I can still hit like a pile-driver... Hehe....

I think I found a winner:

The Sunless Citadel Review

Rating:

Pros
• great henchmen system
• nonlinear
• several side quests
• feels like an old Dungeon and Dragon's module
• monsters actually drop the weapons they use

Cons
• too much useless loot and too many crates to search through
• requires a rogue because of all the traps, locked doors, and locked chests

The Bottom Line - One of the best Dungeon and Dragon module conversions yet.

Review

Few modules are able to capture that special magic of an original Dungeon and Dragon's (D&D) pen and paper (PnP) module. For example, there are attempted PnP conversions like Steading of the Hill Giants, where the author trounces any resemblance to the original by mindlessly throwing a swarm of giants at you from the very beginning. Thankfully, The Sunless Citadel of the 3rd Edition Adventure Series is nothing like that.

You can tell that The Sunless Citadel is something different when you simply download the file for it. Instead of having to unzip it and place the files in the appropriate folders, the self extracting .exe places all the files in the right place so you can start playing the game ASAP. Once you start the game, you will see a nice intro that looks very professional.

Fortunately, there are several little extras in the actual game as well. First and foremost, this module may have the best henchmen system yet. Not only can your henchmen switch weapons and give you input from time to time, but you can also have two henchmen at the same time and you get some weird choices for henchmen such as a goblin and a kobold. In fact, the interaction with a few of your henchmen is simply brilliant.

The way that you find these henchmen and are given side quests is also nice because you don't have to do that much in any sort of order. The side quests are interesting and are interweaved into the module's main goal. The tightly woven story along with the aforementioned henchmen system are what really re-create the magic of classic D&D PnP modules. You just feel like you are playing a D&D module on your PC. The funny thing is that all of NWN's main campaigns did not get as close to that feeling as this one module did.

On the downside, finding mundane loot like plates, elf pudding, and useless paintings may be more logical than finding magic swords and gems in every crate and chest, but the amount of useless equipment that you find in this module is staggering. If you wanted to, you could encumber yourself with entirely useless goods very easily due to the huge number of chests and crates in the Citadel. The only other complaint is that this module essentially requires the use of a rogue. Without one, you will have a hard time of getting through the entire module. You could probably bash a few doors and chests, but some doors and chests have traps on them.

For those of you that play as a rogue or have a rogue in your party, this module deserves a perfect score. Simply put, you have to play this module if you want to experience the way D&D was meant to play via a computer game.

I'm firing up the Pool of Radiance this evening if anyone wants to jump in and play with me. Collin says he's going to jump on after he's finished playing AoE3 in a bit.
